Tesamorelin Research: Half-Life, Dosing, Storage

Tesamorelin is a stabilised analog of growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). It stimulates the pituitary to release endogenous growth hormone in pulses.

Mechanism

Tesamorelin binds the GHRH receptor on the anterior pituitary, increasing GH secretion. Unlike direct exogenous GH, tesamorelin preserves the natural pulsatile release pattern.

Half-life

~25–40 minutes. The effect on GH peaks within 2–4 hours of dosing.

Common research dose

1–2 mg subcutaneously, once daily, usually in the evening to align with natural GH pulses during early sleep.

Reconstitution

10 mg vial in 2 ml BAC water gives 5 mg/ml — 0.2 ml = 1 mg.

Storage

Reconstituted: 2–8°C, 28 days. Sensitive to light — store the vial inside a small opaque box in the fridge.

Frequently asked questions

When should I dose?

Evening dosing is common to align with natural GH pulses during sleep.

Is it the same as GH?

No — it stimulates your own pituitary to release GH rather than supplying GH directly.
